This is the story of a nation
who left Egypt behind,
It all began with a cry.
Not the prophet Ezekiel,
saw the handmaid’s vision so high
And now they stand
before a sea
that stretches out forever,
surrounded by desert; what now can be done?
“God’s grace will surely save us”, Moses cried
In jumped Aminadav’s son
We shall cry out to the Lord in our distress,
from our troubles He will save us
Egypt are the losers, everyone sang and danced,
the women and men separately
In God and Moses his servant they gained faith
when man and horse were drowned at sea
Then Moses delayed
we must have lost him, who will be our guide?
“I hear a voice in the camps”: the Levites turned the tide
We shall cry out…
“We will first do then hear”,
the nations cried: we’ve lost two crowns and ten commands!
We saw the sounds and heard the torches,
no sick were left to heal
And ever since, they all resent us, they don’t even remember why
And ever since, we’ve fallen and risen up again, along the same lines…
So if we cry out to the Lord in our distress, from our troubles He will save us
If only we’ll cry out
then He will save us
